The latest flagship model from Lexus, the RZ600e F Sport Performance, has been unveiled in Japan, showcasing an impressive power boost compared to its predecessor. This new variant, based on the RZ550e, delivers a total system output of 313 kW, a 13 kW increase attributed to a reassessment of battery output limits. Despite this enhancement, the acceleration time from 0-100 km/h remains unchanged at 4.4 seconds.
Both the front and rear motors are rated at 167 kW and 268 Nm of torque, providing a robust driving experience. The vehicle uses a 77 kWh battery pack, which maintains a driving range of 525 km under the CLTC standard. It is important to note that the CLTC figures are generally more generous compared to the WLTP standards, which indicate a range of 450 km for the less powerful RZ550e.
Distinctive Design Features
The RZ600e sets itself apart from its less powerful siblings with a striking carbon-fibre aero kit. This kit includes a prominent front splitter, a rear diffuser, and two tailgate-mounted spoilers. Additionally, the vehicle features carbon-fibre turning vanes, enhancing its aerodynamics and visual appeal. The wheel arches are also more pronounced compared to other RZ variants, providing a sportier look.
Further distinguishing elements include a carbon-fibre roof, styling beneath the headlights, and unique bonnet vents. The car rides on 21-inch black Enkei alloy wheels, equipped with 255/40 Yokohama Advan Sport tyres at the front and 295/35 tyres at the rear. Notably, the braking system features larger 20-inch discs with blue calipers, with the front brakes utilizing a six-piston aluminum monoblock design.
Interior and Pricing Details
Inside, the RZ600e F Sport Performance offers a luxurious experience with electric blue accents and a yoke-style steering wheel that supports a drive-by-wire system. The front sports seats are trimmed in Ultrasuede and crafted using an integrated foam moulding process for enhanced comfort.
This special edition model is priced starting from ¥12,165,000 (approximately A$116,000) in Japan. While it remains uncertain if the RZ600e will be available outside of Japan, the base models, including the RZ550e and the RZ500e, have already been confirmed for the Australian market.
