UPDATE: Authorities have launched an urgent investigation into a shocking act of anti-Semitism after swastikas and the phrase “kill the Jews” were discovered graffitied on a wall in Spearwood, Perth. The incident, reported by the Australian Jewish Association on Monday, has drawn swift condemnation and calls for action.

The graffiti was found on the brick wall of a Vibe service station located on Rockingham Road. Local police and the State Security Investigation Group Hate Team are actively investigating the case following a public outcry. Authorities confirmed they are acting on information received from citizens concerned about this extremist display.

Police have not determined the exact timing of the graffiti, but they believe it had been present for some time before being reported. The defaced wall has since been repainted.

Detective Superintendent Ricky Chadwick from the Security Operations Division stated, “The WA Police Force will not stand by while individuals or groups attempt to divide our community by engaging in crimes driven by hate or prejudice.” He emphasized that under Operation Dalewood, which was launched on December 15, proactive measures are being taken to ensure community safety and combat anti-Semitism.

The response from officials has been immediate. Acting Premier Jackie Jarvis described the incident as “appalling” and stressed that offenders should face the “full weight” of new laws that impose up to five years’ imprisonment for displaying Nazi insignia. “It’s shocking… we don’t tolerate that, that’s completely unacceptable,” she stated on Tuesday. “This is the worst of the worst. That’s why we’ve toughened up those laws, because it is just appalling behavior.”

The incident has sparked outrage among community members, many of whom are calling for increased vigilance and stronger measures against hate crimes. The WA Police Force assures the public that they remain committed to identifying and prosecuting anyone involved in racially motivated or extremist actions.

As the investigation continues, authorities urge anyone with information to come forward. The case highlights the urgent need for community solidarity against hate and prejudice, reinforcing the message that such acts will not be tolerated.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as officials work to address this serious issue and promote community safety.
