New Beer Garden Set to Transform Denver’s River North District

A new outdoor food and beverage destination, the Hopscotch Beer Garden, is slated to open in late winter 2026 at Denargo Market in Denver’s River North Art District. This development promises to enhance the area along the South Platte River, offering a vibrant space for both locals and visitors.

Details of the Development

Spanning over 17,000 square feet, the beer garden is a collaborative effort between Golub & Company and Formativ, with operational management provided by DrinkDenver. The site, located at 3380 Denargo St, is currently under construction, with final permitting expected to be completed in the coming months. The design incorporates insights from the landscape architecture firm Sasaki.

Once completed, Hopscotch will feature a bar, a spacious patio, and flexible event areas. A dedicated turf field will host lawn games and events curated by DrinkDenver, including trivia nights, movie screenings, and weekly happy hours. The venue aims to be a year-round gathering spot, equipped with a reinforced heated tent structure.

Pet owners will be pleased to know that on-leash dogs will be welcome at the beer garden, enhancing its community-friendly atmosphere. The beverage selection will focus on draft beer, wine, kombucha, and canned cocktails, complemented by a small menu of ready-to-eat snacks and a rotating lineup of food trucks.

Community Impact and Vision

Anticipated operating hours for Hopscotch are Thursday and Friday from 14:00 to 22:00, Saturdays from 12:00 to 22:00, and Sundays from 12:00 to 19:00. This initiative is part of a broader vision to connect people to the riverfront and foster community interaction.

“We are committed to creating spaces that connect people to the riverfront and to each other. Denargo Market will become a dynamic day-to-night destination for Denver and the surrounding area,” said Laura Newman, vice president of investment and development at Golub & Company.

Newman emphasized that Hopscotch will serve as a vital link between the River North area and downtown Denver, positioning the beer garden as a cornerstone of community programming and placemaking for local residents. This project is expected to significantly enhance the landscape and social fabric of the area, setting a new standard for outdoor gathering spaces in Denver.
