The Hudson Valley burger chain TFS Burger Works is set to open a new location in Midtown East, Manhattan. This expansion follows the submission of a liquor license application to the Manhattan Community Board 6. The restaurant will be situated at 401 E 50th Street, in a space that previously housed Kyan Grill & Juice Bar.
Brendan Rogers, the first-time restaurant owner, is enthusiastic about the new venture. He describes the corner space as having an open kitchen and ample seating, ideal for social gatherings. “It’s going to be a good space,” Rogers stated. “You can come and spend time on a Saturday afternoon with your friends or family.”
History and Menu of TFS Burger Works
TFS Burger Works was founded by Stavros Galanis as a tribute to an old gas station and hot dog stand established in 1929 on Route 9W in Palisades, N.Y.. Although the original station closed in 1991, Galanis revitalized the space in 2011, restoring it to a community hub where visitors can enjoy good food and hospitality. Currently, TFS operates two other locations in Westwood, N.J. and West Haverstraw, N.Y., with plans for additional sites in Rutherford, N.J. and Williamsburg.
The menu at TFS Burger Works features a variety of hearty options, including hot dogs, fried chicken sandwiches, and grilled cheeses. However, the highlight is undoubtedly the burger, characterized by thick patties cooked to medium unless specified otherwise. The upcoming Manhattan location will also offer a selection of local beers and wines, enhancing the dining experience.
Opening Timeline and Community Impact
Currently, the Manhattan restaurant is in the build-out phase, with an anticipated opening in mid-March 2024. The establishment is expected to contribute to the vibrant dining scene in Midtown East, providing both residents and visitors with a new casual dining option.
As TFS Burger Works makes its mark in Manhattan, it continues to uphold its commitment to quality food and community engagement, reflecting the spirit of its original location. With its expansion, TFS aims to create a welcoming environment for customers to enjoy meals and make lasting memories.
