West Footscray Neighbourhood House Announces Urgent Garage Sale

URGENT UPDATE: The West Footscray Neighbourhood House (WFNH) is hosting a must-attend garage sale on Saturday, February 21, 2024, from 10am to 2pm, offering local residents a chance to grab unbeatable bargains while supporting vital community programs. Situated above the West Footscray library on Barkly Street, this event promises to be a significant fundraiser for the neighbourhood house, which plays a crucial role in the local community.

The annual garage sale is more than just a shopping opportunity; it’s a chance to contribute to community welfare. Funds raised will directly support essential programs such as community childcare, the toy library, playgroup, and the Soul House community lunch initiative. According to WFNH programs officer Terry Nguyen, “We’re hoping to raise between $1,000 and $2,000 for these important services.”

Items available will include second-hand goods, clothing, toys, books, and shoes, all priced affordably to ensure that everyone can participate, even those facing financial difficulties. Additionally, families can enjoy free face-painting for kids, making this a perfect outing for parents and children alike.

Despite being a fundraiser, organizers are committed to maintaining low prices for all items. “No large items will be on sale, so everything is accessible,” Nguyen emphasized. There’s still time for local sellers to join in; tables are available for $20. Interested vendors are encouraged to contact the neighbourhood house to book a stall.

To find out more or to reserve a spot, reach out via phone at 9687 3345 or email at [email protected]. Don’t miss this chance to support your community and find great deals—all while keeping the spirit of local engagement alive.

This garage sale is not just an event; it’s a lifeline for community programs. Make sure to mark your calendars and spread the word!
