URGENT UPDATE: The MICHELIN Guide Saudi Arabia 2026 has officially unveiled its inaugural Special Awards during a vibrant celebration in Riyadh on February 13, 2026. This momentous event highlights the nation’s burgeoning culinary scene, spotlighting a total of 51 restaurants that have joined the prestigious Guide, including 11 Bib Gourmand recipients recognized for their exceptional cuisine at great value.
The evening was marked by an innovative reveal process that took place in stages on a dedicated website, showcasing the rich tapestry of Saudi culture through three engaging storytelling themes: hospitality, women, and bread. Each theme offered an extraordinary glimpse into the diverse culinary offerings of the country.
Among the standout recognitions, the Young Chef Award was awarded to Elia Kaady of Maiz in Riyadh. Kaady, who honed his culinary skills in Beirut, credits his brother for inspiring his journey. His rise as one of the region’s promising talents underscores the vibrant future of Saudi cuisine.
In another highlight, Il Baretto in Riyadh received the Exceptional Mocktail Award. Under the guidance of Bar Manager Santiago Latorre, the restaurant’s cocktail list features a creative array of elevated classics and unique mocktails, each crafted with precision and Italian flair.
The Service Award was presented to Yaza in Jeddah, celebrated for its outstanding hospitality led by Chef/Owner Hakim Bagabas. Guests are treated to a warm welcome with Arabic coffee and dates, complemented by knowledgeable staff who enhance the dining experience with personalized recommendations.
