Aston Martin Unveils 2026 Vantage S with Powerful 500kW V8

Aston Martin has officially introduced the new Vantage S, featuring a robust 500kW twin-turbocharged V8 engine, ahead of its public unveiling at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed. This latest model is set to arrive in Australia in the first quarter of 2026, with orders now being accepted. The coupe is priced at $420,000 before on-road costs, while the roadster variant starts at $445,000 plus on-road expenses.

The 2025 Aston Martin Vantage S stands out as the most performance-oriented version of the Vantage yet. It boasts a power increase of 11kW over the standard model, bringing the total output to 500kW, while maintaining the same torque of 600Nm. This torque is delivered over a broader range, from 3000-6000rpm, compared to the 2000-5000rpm range of the regular Vantage V8.

Performance Enhancements and Design Features

With a new ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and a carbon-fibre driveshaft, the Vantage S achieves a 0-100km/h acceleration time of just 3.4 seconds, shaving off 0.1 seconds from its predecessor. The top speed remains impressive at 202mph (326km/h), despite the additional horsepower.

Aston Martin has also focused on improving driving dynamics through significant chassis upgrades. The front dampers have been retuned for enhanced steering feel, while the rear suspension has been adjusted to provide a smoother ride at lower speeds. The steering feedback is sharper, aided by a stiffer rear subframe, which is now directly mounted to the chassis instead of via rubber bushes. This refinement aims to enhance the overall driving experience, particularly under load.

Aerodynamically, the Vantage S features a redesigned front bumper and venturi vanes, complemented by underbody modifications and a larger rear deck spoiler, which together generate an additional 67kg of downforce at its top speed. Aesthetic upgrades include distinctive ‘bonnet blades’ in either gloss black or 2Ă—2 Twill Carbon Fibre, along with hand-crafted brass ‘S’ badges adorned with red details.

Interior Luxury and Customization Options

Inside, the Vantage S offers an array of luxurious options, including leather-trimmed sports seats that prominently display the ‘S’ logo. The craftsmanship is evident, with over 2500 individual stitches utilized throughout the cabin, showcasing the brand’s commitment to quality. Buyers can choose from optional red or silver anodised finishes for the centre rotary drive-mode selector, aligning with other design elements for a cohesive look.

An optional ‘Inspire Sport’ interior package is available, featuring premium aniline leather and Alcantara materials, further enhancing the vehicle’s luxurious appeal.

While previous iterations of the Vantage S included both V8 and V12 options, the latest model will exclusively feature the V8 powertrain. This decision comes despite Aston Martin’s recent launch of a new 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 in its third-generation Vanquish, which retails for $737,000 before on-road costs in Australia. This powerful engine produces 614kW and 1000Nm of torque, highlighting Aston Martin’s commitment to high-performance vehicles even amidst stricter emissions regulations.

As the automotive industry increasingly shifts towards electrification, Aston Martin continues to champion traditional powertrains, maintaining that the allure of V12 engines remains strong among enthusiasts. The Vantage S, with its enhanced performance and luxurious features, aims to attract both new and loyal customers alike, solidifying Aston Martin’s position in the high-performance sports car market.
