YOFC Unveils All-Optical Solutions for AI at MWC 2026

At MWC Barcelona 2026, held on March 8, Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Joint Stock Limited Company (YOFC) introduced its end-to-end all-optical solutions aimed at enhancing AI-driven applications across various industries. The company showcased how these innovative technologies are essential for supporting advanced computing, smart mobility, and other data-intensive operations.

During the event, YOFC emphasized the need for industries to upgrade their digital infrastructure to accommodate the increasing demands of AI workloads. The presentation featured two flagship applications: AI Intelligent Computing and All-Optical Smart Vehicles. These examples illustrated how YOFC’s all-optical technologies are making a significant impact in real-world scenarios, providing operational value and efficiency.

Innovative AI Solutions for High-Performance Computing

YOFC unveiled its AI Intelligent Computing Center Solution, specifically designed for hyperscale and high-performance computing environments. This solution integrates advanced optical technologies, including hollow-core fibre and multi-core fibre. It comprises four core components: premium multimode fibre, 400G/800G high-speed optical transceivers, and energy-efficient cabling systems.

The architecture is tailored to support high-density computing connectivity, ensuring efficient data transmission while considering energy efficiency. YOFC’s hollow-core fibre technology delivers signal transmission speeds approximately 47% faster than traditional fibre and reduces latency by around 31%. With an average attenuation of 0.12 dB/km and a minimum of 0.040 dB/km, YOFC’s proprietary fibre surpasses the theoretical limits of conventional single-mode fibre.

Advancing Smart Mobility with All-Optical Technologies

The presentation also spotlighted the All-Optical Smart Vehicle system, a key application that enhances connectivity between vehicles, infrastructure, and cloud platforms. This advanced system supports autonomous driving functions and improves traffic system efficiency by deploying in-vehicle fibre networks that enable high-bandwidth, low-latency communication.

The smart vehicle solution integrates five essential technologies, including in-vehicle optical communication and dedicated fibre solutions for LiDAR signal amplification. This approach not only advances intelligent vehicle architectures but also enhances operational safety and reliability while minimizing energy consumption and maintenance needs.

In addition to these flagship applications, YOFC showcased an array of all-optical solutions for marine communications, power communications, and smart living, demonstrating its capability for end-to-end deployment across multiple environments. The company’s innovations are gaining traction in various markets, underscoring its commitment to supporting AI computing infrastructure and smart mobility systems.

Through its MWC 2026 showcase, YOFC reiterated its focus on developing AI-driven optical infrastructure. The company plans to further integrate AI with optical communications, expand its solutions portfolio, and promote the adoption of all-optical architectures across diverse industry applications. As part of its ongoing product development, YOFC aims to create long-term industrial value in the emerging AI era, facilitating large-scale digital transformation across multiple sectors.
