Vantage Foundation and Banking Academy Unveil Nationwide AI Finance Program

A groundbreaking initiative has been launched to enhance financial education across Vietnam, with the Vantage Foundation partnering with the Banking Academy of Vietnam and over ten leading universities. This nationwide program aims to equip more than 1,500 educators and students with advanced skills in AI-driven financial data analysis and decision-making.

The program, titled “Financial Data Analysis and Decision-Making in the Era of Artificial Intelligence (AI),” was unveiled during events held on March 12 and March 14, 2026, at the Banking Academy’s campus in Hanoi. The initiative has already attracted interest from over 3,000 students nationwide, reflecting the growing demand for AI knowledge in Vietnam’s rapidly digitalizing financial sector.

Empowering Educators and Students

The program uniquely combines in-person sessions with nationwide virtual participation, allowing a diverse range of educators and students to engage. Among the participating institutions are the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, National Economics University, Vietnam National University – Hanoi, Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, and Foreign Trade University. These institutions are recognized as influential centers for financial education and crucial talent pipelines for Vietnam’s banking and financial services sector.

A significant component of the initiative is a Training-of-Trainers (ToT) program aimed at enhancing AI-driven financial analytics capabilities among university lecturers. This session saw participation from over 250 professors, some of whom traveled more than 1,500 kilometers from Can Tho University in the Mekong Delta to attend. Their commitment highlights the urgent need for educators to integrate AI-driven financial analytics into their curricula.

By equipping educators with the necessary frameworks, the program seeks to ensure that advanced financial data capabilities permeate classrooms across the country, fostering a new generation of data-literate finance professionals.

Insights from Industry Experts

The program also features contributions from industry experts who offer practical insights into real-world AI applications in financial markets. Ms. Truong Thi Minh Trang, M.Sc., Managing Director of Financial Information Services at FiinGroup, provided a session on financial data analytics. FiinGroup, a leading financial data and analytics provider in Vietnam, has strategic shareholders that include Nikkei Inc. and QUICK Corp.

Additionally, participants experienced a live demonstration led by Dr. Vu Xuan Tung, AI Solution Architect at Goline Financial Technology JSC. This session showcased AI-enabled trading software and emerging technologies utilized in modern securities trading systems, providing attendees with a direct look at how AI is transforming financial market infrastructure.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Deputy Director of the Banking Academy of Vietnam, emphasized the transformative impact of AI on the financial sector. He stated, “Artificial intelligence is no longer a future concept. It has already become a reality reshaping the structure of the global financial industry.” He highlighted the increasing necessity for finance professionals to interpret complex datasets and respond swiftly to market dynamics.

Building a Future-Ready Financial Workforce

In his opening remarks on March 14, Mr. Adam Siew, Vice President of Business Development for Vantage Foundation, addressed the accelerating convergence of finance and technology. He noted that AI is revolutionizing how financial institutions analyze data and make decisions, stating, “Processes that once required weeks of analysis can now be completed in seconds.” He further underscored the importance of human judgment in navigating technological advancements.

The program concluded with a certificate presentation ceremony, attended by Mr. Floyd Wong, Head of Vietnam for Vantage Foundation, and representatives from the Banking Academy. This collaboration reflects a commitment to strengthening financial education and ensuring that Vietnamese students are prepared to engage with both academic theory and global industry perspectives.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape financial systems worldwide, partnerships like this between academic institutions and organizations connected to the global fintech ecosystem will be vital in preparing the next generation of finance professionals. By investing in education today, Vietnam is fostering future leaders who will navigate the complexities of an increasingly digital financial landscape.
