This year’s event will be hosted by comedian and author Peter Helliar and is set to captivate young audiences at the Lilly Pilly and Coolamon marquees.

Festival organizers confirm an impressive lineup featuring literary stars like Tony Armstrong, Anita Heiss, and Kirli Saunders. The excitement kicks off on Sunday, August 10, with the dynamic duo of Miles Merrill and Rachael Williams launching the festivities with a lively rhyme and rap session.

Attendees can look forward to an exclusive appearance by rising star Tony Armstrong, who will share enchanting tales from his works, including George the Wizard and Maggie the Dragon. This heartwarming session promises to spark imagination and foster a love for reading among children.

Peter Helliar will then take the stage with his own engaging mystery, Detective Galileo, followed by storytime with Anita Heiss, featuring her beloved titles Koori Princess and Yirra and Her Deadly Dog, Demon. Young attendees will also have the chance to create their own stories alongside acclaimed author Sarah Armstrong during an interactive workshop.

At the Coolamon stage, the StoryBoard space will buzz with activity as the iconic StoryBoard bus and tipi village offer free drop-in workshops. Children can start their day with Afloat author Kirli Saunders and then dive into biodiversity with Judy Friedlander and The Bee Squad.

Craft enthusiasts will enjoy making flower crowns with Zanni Louise, while budding poets can explore their creativity with Sarah Temporal. The program wraps up with an exciting drawing workshop led by Jake A. Minton, creator of Inked: A Graphic Novel.

The festival will also feature joyful dance breaks with The Gumboots and dazzling performances from Spaghetti Circus, including thrilling stilt walkers.
