Finn Wolfhard has officially announced his upcoming 2025 UK and European tour, titled Objection!, in support of his debut solo album, Happy Birthday. The album, which was released in June, features the nostalgic lead single Choose The Latter and the introspective track Trailers After Dark. The tour will commence on October 4 with a performance at La Maroquinerie in Paris, followed by stops in Berlin, Manchester, and Dublin. The tour will culminate with a headline show at London’s Electric Brixton on October 16.
Reflecting on the creative process behind Happy Birthday, Wolfhard acknowledged the significant influence of his Stranger Things co-stars, Joe Keery and Maya Hawke. In an interview with NME earlier this year, he stated, “(Joe) was a gigantic inspiration to me and another mentor.” He mentioned a collaborative effort among friends, where both Keery and Hawke contributed to a weekly songwriting challenge. “I still text Joe to ask him what he thinks about song ideas. I’m hoping we can make music together – even if I wasn’t credited,” he added.
Joe Keery, who portrays Steve Harrington in Stranger Things, has been active in the music scene under the moniker Djo. He released his third album, The Crux, in 2023. Earlier this year, Wolfhard joined Keery on stage in Toronto for a live performance of Flash Mountain, a track from Djo’s 2019 debut album, Twenty Twenty.
New Animated Spin-off Announced
Wolfhard’s tour announcement coincides with the ongoing expansion of the Stranger Things franchise. A new animated spin-off, Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, is currently in production at Netflix. The project is being executive-produced by the Duffer brothers, Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, alongside Shawn Levy, who directed films such as Deadpool and Wolverine. While specific casting and plot details remain under wraps, the Duffer brothers expressed their excitement about the project in a statement to Netflix’s Tudum.
“We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons that we grew up loving, and to see this dream realised has been absolutely thrilling,” they remarked. They further praised the creative team led by Eric Robles, stating, “The scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues…”
As Finn Wolfhard prepares for his tour, fans can anticipate an exciting blend of music and nostalgia, reflecting both his artistic evolution and the enduring popularity of Stranger Things.
