Auction of ‘Our Flag Means Death’ Props Opens for Fans

Fans of the acclaimed series *Our Flag Means Death* can now bid on memorabilia from the show in an online auction hosted by Heritage Auctions. This event offers a unique opportunity to purchase props and costumes from the queer pirate comedy, which aired on HBO Max and was created by David Jenkins. The auction will run until August 23, 2025, and features a variety of items that will delight collectors and fans alike.

The auction is part of Heritage’s broader HBO Mashup auction, which includes memorabilia from notable series such as *Barry*, *Big Little Lies*, *Curb Your Enthusiasm*, *White House Plumbers*, and *Perry Mason*. Among the items for sale from *Our Flag Means Death* are “Wanted” posters for Blackbeard, portrayed by Taika Waititi, as well as an array of pirate swords, daggers, and pistols. One of the standout pieces is the mermaid tail worn by Stede Bonnet, played by Rhys Darby, during a pivotal dream sequence in Season 2.

Several costume pieces are also available, including Stede’s elaborate coats and Blackbeard’s signature leather battle outfits. As of the latest update, some lots are still starting at a mere $1, while the most valuable item currently leads the auction: wedding toppers featuring Stede and Blackbeard from Season 2, which have surpassed $1,000.

Previous Auctions Highlight Community Spirit

The Heritage Auctions event is not the first instance of *Our Flag Means Death* memorabilia being auctioned. In February and March of 2025, fans organized the *Our Flag Means Death* craft fair, a 19-day fundraiser that successfully raised $105,000 for the Campaign for Southern Equality’s Trans Youth Emergency Project. This initiative featured a variety of handmade items crafted by devoted fans, including embroidery and jewelry, showcasing the community’s support for LGBTQ+ causes.

The craft fair also included contributions from the series’ cast and crew. David Jenkins donated an *Our Flag Means Death* teapot, while Taika Waititi offered a prop he had doodled on during filming. This blend of creativity and charity highlights the strong connection the fanbase has with the series, even after its cancellation.

As the auction progresses, it not only gives fans a chance to own a piece of the show’s legacy but also reinforces the sense of community that *Our Flag Means Death* has fostered. With items that range from quirky to significant, collectors have a unique opportunity to engage with the series in a new and personal way. Whether bidding on a treasured prop or supporting a good cause, fans are reminded of the lasting impact the show has had on its audience.
