Riverina Sports Weekend: Finals Hopes on the Line Today!

UPDATE: The Riverina sports scene is heating up this weekend, with crucial matches that could determine finals qualifications across multiple leagues. Action kicks off today, and fans are eager to see if their teams can secure vital wins.

In the Riverina League, all eyes are on The Rock-Yerong Creek as they aim for a finals berth while celebrating captain Curtis Steele’s milestone game. Their path to playoffs faces a significant hurdle as they take on Marrar and Coleambally. However, a loss could make finals aspirations nearly impossible.

Meanwhile, East Wagga-Kooringal, featuring AFL premiership winner Campbell Brown, is set to clash with North Wagga. This matchup is critical for both teams as they vie for positioning in the top ranks. Additionally, the Wagga Tigers are looking to push into the top five when they host Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes, who are currently without their head coach.

In crucial fixtures, Leeton-Whitton and Griffith are desperate for a win against their opponents, while Narrandera will face off against Collingullie-Wagga. The action doesn’t stop there, as on Sunday, Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong will host Turvey Park.

Over in the Southern Inland league, Reddies are set to return to the field against Griffith. Highlighting the weekend is the ladies’ day clash between Wagga City and Ag College, while Tumut takes on Albury.

This weekend also sees a break in the Group Nine Group 20 league due to the Junee Knockout. Meanwhile, the ProTen Cup grand finals are scheduled for Saturday in Hillston. Barellan, having qualified for their first grand final since the inception of the ProTen Cup, will face off against Ivanhoe in a highly anticipated rematch, marking their third consecutive meeting in the finals.

With the stakes high and emotions running even higher, fans are urged to stay tuned for live updates throughout the day. Each match could change the landscape of the leagues, making this weekend one of the most critical in Riverina sports history. Don’t miss a moment of the action as we bring you every score and highlight.
