Nine Dominates TV Ratings with The Block Leading Viewership

UPDATE: In a stunning turn of events, the Nine Network has decisively claimed the top spot in TV ratings for August 5, 2025, with its flagship program, The Block, leading evening viewership. The latest figures reveal that The Block attracted a total national reach of 2,025,000, solidifying its position as a viewer favorite.

The competition heated up as Seven’s Seven News followed closely, recording a total reach of 2,203,000 viewers, while Nine’s 9News captured 2,184,000 viewers. The battle for ratings supremacy is intensifying, showcasing a fierce rivalry between the two networks.

In terms of viewer demographics, The Block also excelled among the 25-54 age group, reaching 770,000 viewers and maintaining a national audience of 476,000. Meanwhile, Nine’s A Current Affair recorded significant numbers as well, with a national audience of 1,203,000 and a reach of 1,805,000.

The evening lineup also featured Nine’s Tipping Point Australia, which attracted 1,522,000 viewers, while Seven’s Seven News reached 1,764,000 grocery shoppers aged 18 and over, showcasing the diverse interests of the audience.

Viewers aged 16-39 showed a strong preference for Nine’s The Block, with 380,000 in this demographic tuning in, demonstrating the show’s wide appeal. The program’s ability to engage younger audiences is a critical factor in its ongoing success.
