Groundbreaking Ceremony Launches Sweetwater’s Tech Tower Project

On March 15, 2024, Global City Development and Gilu Development officially broke ground on the Tech Tower, a new 23-story residential project in Sweetwater, Florida. This ambitious development will feature 517 upscale apartments, complemented by modern amenities and ground-floor retail space, addressing the community’s growing demand for quality housing.

Significant Milestone in Sweetwater’s Growth

The groundbreaking ceremony signifies a pivotal moment in Sweetwater’s ongoing development and expansion. The project is designed to cater to professionals and families seeking high-quality living options in the increasingly vital Miami-Dade area. Key figures from the city and the development teams attended the event, underlining the project’s importance to the local community.

Among the notable attendees were Brian Pearl, Principal and Co-Founder of Global City Development; Adam Adler, Principal; and Alec Muñoz, Senior Vice President of Construction. Also present were Luis Bermudez, Principal of Gilu Development, and Alexis Leal, Florida Head of Shawmut Design and Construction. Sweetwater’s Mayor, Jose “Pepe” Diaz, participated as a special guest, emphasizing the city’s dedication to growth and innovation.

Innovative Design and Amenities

Located at 10921 SW 7th Street, the ceremony showcased the architectural design of Tech Tower, crafted by the renowned firm Arquitectonica. The development aims to redefine workforce housing by combining attainable rents with luxury features, making it an attractive option for a diverse range of residents.

Tech Tower will offer a total of 28,197 square feet of amenity space, including a yoga lawn, fitness studios, and a rooftop pool deck. Additionally, 2,923 square feet of retail space will be available on the ground floor, enhancing the urban experience for residents and visitors alike.

The project is poised to elevate the standard of workforce housing in Sweetwater, blending upscale amenities with thoughtfully designed living environments. As part of Miami-Dade’s expanding corridor, Tech Tower aims to meet the needs of a growing population, providing a modern lifestyle that appeals to both young professionals and families.

With the groundbreaking of Tech Tower, Sweetwater continues to demonstrate its commitment to development and innovation, making strides to enhance the quality of life for its residents.
