Hyundai Launches Ioniq 9, a Luxurious All-Electric SUV

Hyundai Heavy Industries has unveiled its latest vehicle, the Ioniq 9, a cutting-edge all-electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) that promises a blend of luxury, performance, and advanced technology. Priced from $119,750, the Ioniq 9 is available in a single-grade Calligraphy, offering configurations with six or seven seats and an impressive driving range of up to 600 km on a single battery charge.

As the world’s largest shipbuilding company, Hyundai is leveraging its engineering expertise to produce vehicles of remarkable dimensions. The Ioniq 9 exemplifies this approach, featuring a spacious interior akin to a lounge, outfitted with premium Nappa leather seats and equipped with the latest in-car technology. With a focus on safety, the SUV includes 10 airbags and a comprehensive Hyundai SmartSense Suite that encompasses forward collision avoidance and lane-keeping assistance.

A Luxurious Interior and Performance Features

The Ioniq 9’s interior is designed to offer passengers a comfortable experience, with ample room and high-quality materials. The vehicle’s seating configuration allows for versatile use, with the second and third rows capable of folding flat to create increased cargo space of up to 2,410 litres. A notable feature includes a one-touch tilt function for easy access to the third row, enhancing convenience for families or those transporting passengers.

Under the hood, the Ioniq 9 is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering 314 kW and a maximum torque of 700 Nm. This setup allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. Fast charging capabilities are also a highlight, as it can recharge from 10% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes using a 350 kW fast charger.

Innovative Technology and Safety Measures

Incorporating Hyundai’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, the Ioniq 9 features advanced AI voice recognition and over-the-air updates for vehicle software. Additionally, the Bluelink system allows for remote monitoring of safety and performance features, ensuring drivers are well-informed about their vehicle’s status.

Safety is a key focus for Hyundai, with the Ioniq 9 receiving a five-star safety rating. The SUV is equipped with advanced safety features, including a knee airbag and a front centre side airbag designed to prevent secondary collisions between front-seat occupants. The vehicle’s structural reinforcements enhance cabin integrity during side impacts, contributing to an overall secure driving experience.

As the flagship model of Hyundai’s electric vehicle lineup, the Ioniq 9 Calligraphy combines appealing aesthetics with practical performance. Its aerodynamic design is complemented by 21-inch machined alloy wheels, while features like a panoramic sunroof contribute to a sense of openness and luxury.

The introduction of the Ioniq 9 marks a significant advancement in Hyundai’s commitment to electric mobility, offering a compelling choice for consumers seeking an electric SUV that does not compromise on comfort or capability. With a comprehensive warranty package, including a five-year/unlimited kilometre vehicle warranty and an eight-year/160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty, Hyundai aims to build long-lasting relationships with its customers while delivering innovative automotive solutions.
