KFC Revives Original Honey BBQ Sauce and Chicken Sandwich for Fans

KFC is bringing back its popular Original Honey BBQ sauce to the menu following significant customer demand. Starting on October 6, 2023, fans can once again enjoy the sweet and smoky flavor that made the sauce a favorite in the late 1990s. This marks a notable revival as the sauce will be available not only on classic chicken pieces but also on the KFC Chicken Sandwich and tenders.

The Original Honey BBQ quickly gained popularity for its unique taste, which perfectly complements KFC’s signature chicken. Over the years, customers have expressed their desire for its return, often sharing recipes and nostalgic memories on social media platforms. According to a report from PRNewswire, the sauce has been reintroduced after numerous requests from fans.

Enhancing the KFC Experience

KFC is known for its innovative approaches to customer satisfaction. The brand first introduced the wet napkin over 60 years ago, becoming the first fast-food chain to offer a handy, moist towelette for chicken lovers. With the return of the Original Honey BBQ, KFC is also upgrading its napkins to a larger, more convenient size, enhancing the dining experience for customers.

Catherine Tan-Gillespie, President of KFC U.S., emphasized the cultural significance of the Original Honey BBQ sauce. “It wasn’t just a menu offering; it became a cultural touchstone that fans have been craving and asking us to bring back for years,” she stated.

In addition to the sauce, KFC is reviving its Chicken Sandwich at a nostalgic price of just $3.99. This limited-time offer includes both Classic and Spicy options, featuring an Extra Crispy chicken breast filet on a toasted brioche bun, topped with pickles and the Colonel’s real or spicy mayo. The Chicken Sandwich is noted for its generous portion size and will be available every Sunday.

Halloween Promotions and Special Offers

As Halloween approaches, KFC plans to roll out “Scary Good Deals” exclusively for rewards members. According to PRNewswire, these offers will be accessible through the KFC app and website for 13 days leading up to October 31. Customers can take advantage of special promotions that include a free Classic Chicken Sandwich with a $10 purchase, 50% off a 12-piece chicken bucket, and a deal for 50 nuggets priced at $20. These offers are valid only for online orders.

With the reintroduction of the Original Honey BBQ and special pricing on the Chicken Sandwich, KFC is giving fans ample reasons to celebrate this October. The brand’s commitment to listening to customer feedback and enhancing the menu continues to resonate with its loyal customer base.
