Sacramento Health Inspections: Two Restaurants Earn Green Placards

The Sacramento Health Department conducted a series of health inspections at various restaurants from November 10 to November 14, 2025. Among these inspections, two establishments were cited for violations; one received a red placard, prompting a temporary closure, while the other received a yellow placard. Both restaurants later addressed the issues and successfully passed follow-up inspections to earn green placards.

Inspection Outcomes: Bollywood Pizza and Mad Hatter Doughnuts

A closer examination reveals the specific findings for each restaurant during the inspection period.

Bollywood Pizza, located at 6601 Folsom Blvd Ste 100, Sacramento, CA, was inspected on November 7, 2025. The routine health inspection resulted in a yellow placard due to significant issues, including leftover food on kitchen equipment and unlabeled containers. Additionally, the establishment reported improper food storage temperatures.

Following a reinspection on November 12, 2025, the health department confirmed that Bollywood Pizza had rectified all noted violations. As a result, the restaurant was awarded a green placard, indicating compliance with health standards.

Mad Hatter Doughnuts, situated at 900 2nd St, Sacramento, CA, underwent a routine inspection on November 10, 2025. This inspection led to a red placard being issued due to the presence of vermin, specifically noting twenty rat droppings found throughout the facility. The health department mandated a temporary closure of the eatery.

During the reinspection on November 11, 2025, inspectors found that all major violations had been addressed. The absence of any evidence of vermin resulted in Mad Hatter Doughnuts receiving a green placard. Health inspectors also discussed improvements in cleanliness and decluttering with the restaurant owner.

Regular health inspections are critical for maintaining food safety standards in restaurants, ensuring that establishments provide safe dining experiences for the public. The Sacramento Health Department continues to emphasize the importance of compliance and thorough inspections in safeguarding public health.
