San Francisco Eatery Faces Health Violations Following Inspection

The San Francisco Department of Public Health conducted a health inspection at Fiestabowls LLC on January 29, 2026, resulting in multiple health code violations. The establishment, located at 2290 Mission St, is required to address these issues before a follow-up inspection scheduled for February 5, 2026.

The inspection report highlighted several critical violations that must be corrected. Notably, the eatery did not have a certified food safety manager present during the inspection. Additionally, two of the three handwashing sinks, including one in the restroom, were found to be lacking soap, and none had paper towels available. The inspector instructed the operator to replenish these essential supplies immediately.

Temperature violations were also flagged. Packaged cheese was discovered on a prep table near a warm crepe machine, which was not in use at the time. The cheese had been out of refrigeration for approximately 15 minutes before being returned to cold storage. A shallow pot of cooked corn was measured at 79°F and was voluntarily discarded during the inspection.

The report indicated that no sanitizer solution was available more than four hours after the establishment opened for business. A bleach sanitizer solution was prepared on-site during the inspection. Rodent droppings were found in the storage room, prompting staff to clean the affected areas immediately.

Additional cleanliness issues were noted, with debris observed behind the chest freezer, within cooler gaskets, under a prep table, and on the floor of the walk-in cooler. Furthermore, an ice cream scoop was improperly stored in room-temperature water next to the ice cream cooler. The establishment also failed to post its license certificate and health permit to operate at the location.

A detailed report of these violations is accessible online for public review. Fiestabowls LLC must rectify all noted violations in preparation for the follow-up inspection set for early February. The outcome of this reinspection will determine the establishment’s compliance with health regulations and its ability to continue serving customers.
