Yaya’s Kitchen, formerly known as Yaya’s Flame Broiled Chicken, is preparing to reopen in Lansing, Michigan, at a new location on Clippert Street. This development comes after the closure of their previous restaurant at 3011 E Saginaw Street in 2023. Owner Dielli Husen expressed optimism about opening the new establishment by the end of the month, following some delays.
The restaurant, which originally started in Flint, is celebrated for its quality chicken offerings, including sandwiches, salads, and chicken noodle soup. Yaya’s Kitchen prides itself on serving chicken that is “never frozen, never battered, never fried in grease, and never marinated in oil.” The new Lansing location will continue to offer the same popular menu items that loyal customers have come to expect.
Construction Delays and Health Inspections
Husen has indicated that the restaurant’s debut has been impacted by issues with the local health department and extended construction timelines. Despite these challenges, he described the opening as “imminent,” indicating that the restaurant is working diligently to resolve outstanding matters.
Yaya’s Kitchen will share its plaza with Bubbakoo’s Burritos, which is set to open on January 30, and The Kung-Fu, a dim sum restaurant. The new location is situated just north of the Frandor Shopping Center, conveniently located next to a Burger King.
Future Plans and Expansion
This new site will be company-owned, joining other Yaya’s Chicken locations in cities such as Grand Blanc, Ypsilanti, and Saginaw. As of now, Yaya’s Kitchen does not have social media accounts established for the new restaurant, but further updates are expected as they approach their opening day.
The return of Yaya’s Kitchen to Lansing marks an exciting opportunity for both the restaurant and its customers, promising to deliver the same quality and taste that has endeared it to many in the region.
