Brimbank Libraries Unveil Exciting Free Events for School Holidays

Children and teenagers in Brimbank will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of free activities during the September school holidays, organized by local libraries. These events are designed to engage young minds and provide fun, educational experiences.

Primary-aged children can take part in the ‘spy kids’ events at both Sunshine Library and Keilor Library. During these activities, they will work in teams to crack codes and solve puzzles, fostering collaboration and critical thinking. Additionally, kids can delve into the mystery of Captain Hook’s missing hand at the ‘unsolved mysteries’ events taking place at Keilor Library and Sydenham Library. Participants will even have the chance to engage in a real-life game of ‘Among Us’ following the mystery-solving session.

Young creators are invited to join the ‘mission robot’ activities, which will be held at Sydenham, St Albans, Sunshine, and Keilor Libraries. This hands-on workshop will cover building and coding in a fun robotics environment, allowing children to explore technology in an engaging way.

For the youngest attendees, Deer Park Library will host ‘little beats: rhythm and recycle!’ This event is tailored for babies and toddlers aged zero to three, along with their caregivers. It will promote rhythm, sound, and sustainability through interactive music and play.

Additionally, for those interested in fantasy and adventure, Deer Park Library will feature a Dungeons and Dragons one-shot adventure. This event, filled with monsters, magic, and epic quests, is designed to cater to both newcomers and seasoned players, ensuring an exciting experience for all.

Brimbank Libraries encourages locals to cancel their bookings if they can no longer attend the school holiday events, as there are often waitlists for participation. The library system noted that bookings for these events are now open, providing ample opportunity for families to secure their spots.
