Free Leadership Course Empowers Community Leaders in South East

Next month, community leaders in South East regions will have the opportunity to participate in the Future Impact Community Leadership program, a free development course designed to enhance leadership skills. Offered by Leadership Victoria in collaboration with the Greater Dandenong and Casey councils, the program aims to unite individuals from various sectors, including business, community organizations, and public services.

Program Overview and Objectives

The five-day course will consist of a blend of online and in-person sessions, allowing participants to engage from multiple locations. Leaders will focus on developing their leadership capabilities, fostering meaningful relationships, and acquiring essential tools to navigate complex challenges in their communities.

Upon completion, participants will have access to the Leadership Victoria learning management system for six months. This system includes a wealth of resources such as evidence-based readings, course materials, and reflective practice activities to further enhance their learning experience.

Statements from Local Officials

Greater Dandenong’s Deputy Mayor, Sophie Tan, emphasized the significance of the program, stating, “The Future Impact Community Leadership program presents a great opportunity for residents to strengthen their leadership and deepen their impact.” She highlighted the diverse backgrounds of participants, expressing a desire for the program to reflect the community’s rich tapestry.

Tan further noted, “The program brings together business leaders, community organization members, and those in the public service, equipping them to lead change, now and into the future.” The initiative aims to be inclusive, encouraging individuals of all abilities, sexualities, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and ages to apply.

Applications for the program will close on September 14, 2023. Interested individuals can find more details and apply through the official website: leadershipvictoria.org/future-impact-community-leadership-program.

The Future Impact Community Leadership program represents a significant investment in local leadership development, poised to strengthen the community’s ability to address future challenges collaboratively. As participants enhance their skills and networks, the program aspires to foster a new generation of impactful leaders in the South East region.
