Man Arrested After Fleeing Fast-Food Drive-Thru in Stolen Truck

A man has been arrested following a dramatic incident at a fast-food drive-thru in Altona North involving a stolen vehicle. The events unfolded early this morning when a white truck, reported stolen in Footscray, was tracked to the popular restaurant located at the intersection of Blackshaws and Millers roads.

The incident began around 5:15 am when the vehicle was taken. Shortly thereafter, the male driver stopped at the drive-thru, where police quickly located him. Authorities deployed stop sticks as the stolen truck exited the restaurant, aiming to prevent further escape.

Despite the intervention, the driver managed to continue down Blackshaws Road but was left with flat tyres from the stop sticks. He ultimately came to a halt on Chambers Road, where he was apprehended.

The arrested individual, a 39-year-old man from Hoppers Crossing, was taken into custody by local law enforcement. He is expected to be interviewed regarding the stolen vehicle and the circumstances surrounding his actions.

Police have not disclosed further details about the investigation at this stage. The quick response from authorities highlights the ongoing efforts to combat vehicle theft and enhance public safety in the region.
