Police have arrested a man following a stabbing incident that occurred on O’Connell Street in North Adelaide on December 27, 2023. The incident took place around 22:30 local time, when authorities received reports of a 22-year-old man from Victoria who had suffered a stab wound to the shoulder.
The injured man had been riding a scooter in the area when he became involved in an altercation with a group of individuals. During the scuffle, he sustained a minor injury and was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.
In response to the incident, police conducted a search of the vicinity and apprehended a 49-year-old man from Adelaide. He has been charged with assault causing harm. Notably, the suspect did not apply for bail and is scheduled to appear before the Adelaide Magistrates Court on December 28, 2023.
Authorities recovered the knife allegedly used in the assault from the roof of a nearby building, with assistance from the Metropolitan Fire Service crews.
