Former contestant of The Bachelor, Bec Cvilikas, has addressed swirling rumors regarding her potential participation in the reality renovation series The Block. Speculation intensified after Cvilikas shared a video of her home renovation project with fiancé Kody Griggs on social media, prompting a friend to inquire if she was joining the show. Cvilikas responded playfully with a “Maybe?! Thanks chicky!” fueling further discussions among fans.
Speculation and Fan Reactions
The online reaction was swift, with fans taking to platforms like Reddit to express their thoughts about a possible crossover between the two reality shows. Some voiced concerns that The Block might be succumbing to an Americanized format that prioritizes drama over authenticity. One user remarked, “That’s starting to sound like all the American versions of these shows,” while another noted that crossovers were not entirely new, referencing past appearances by reality stars on the show.
To clarify the situation, Cvilikas directly addressed the rumors in an interview with PEDESTRIAN.TV. She confirmed that while she would welcome the opportunity to join The Block, it remains merely a notion at this time. “They are, in fact, just rumors,” she explained. “However, The Block is the one show I’d actually probably do. As we all know, dating shows are now forever off the cards.”
Current Projects and Future Aspirations
Cvilikas’ engagement and ongoing renovation project with Griggs have taken precedence in her life. She shared insights on their experience, saying, “My fiancé and I had such a great time building our home. There were obviously stressful moments and a lot of mayhem in between, but it made us closer, and we learnt a lot!” She added, “Knowing what I know, I’d absolutely do it all again — audience or not!”
In light of the backlash from Reddit users regarding the involvement of former reality contestants in shows like The Block, Cvilikas remarked on the public’s tendency to criticize. “I find it quite funny how upset people get when shows cast ex-reality contestants. Honestly, I think people just love to hate, but deep down they know they’d be entertaining — they’ve done TV for a reason once before.”
In a nod to her diverse interests in reality television, Cvilikas revealed that her manager had once suggested she audition for MasterChef Australia. However, her culinary skills did not match the challenge. “I am so far from a talented cook, I had to turn that one down. I’d be fighting for my life on that one,” she joked.
The landscape of reality television continues to evolve, with crossovers becoming increasingly common. The new season of The Traitors Australia is set to premiere soon, featuring a mix of public figures and reality stars. As these crossovers gain traction, it appears that audiences may have to brace themselves for more familiar faces from the reality TV circuit.
