As the year draws to a close, communities across the region are gearing up for vibrant New Year’s Eve celebrations. A range of events promises excitement and entertainment for all ages, with venues offering everything from fireworks to live music.

Albury Harness Racing Club Welcomes 2024

The Albury Harness Racing Club will host its much-anticipated New Year’s Eve event on December 31, starting at 17:00. Attendees can enjoy a thrilling evening filled with harness racing, food stalls, and entertainment for children. The highlight will be a spectacular fireworks display at midnight. Entry to the event is at Mate Street, with tickets available for purchase at the gate using both EFTPOS and cash. The ticket prices are set at $25 for adults, $15 for concession holders, $10 for attendees aged under 17, and free for children under five. DJ Steve Bowen will keep the energy high throughout the night.

Great Gatsby Glamour at Atura Hotel

For those seeking a touch of elegance, the Atura Hotel on Dean Street offers a Great Gatsby-style party starting at 20:30. Guests can expect an evening of glamour, with dazzling decor and upbeat music inspired by the 1920s. Tickets are priced from $70 for a single entry and $130 for couples. Children between the ages of eight and 16 can attend for $27, while those under eight will be charged $20. This event promises an unforgettable night filled with dancing and celebration.

Wangaratta Showgrounds Hosts Free Music Fest

The Wangaratta Showgrounds will present a free New Year’s Eve celebration, commencing at 17:00. Music lovers can look forward to performances from the Melbourne Ska Orchestra, a 15-piece ensemble led by Nicky Bomba. Local talent RIFF, along with renowned country music artist Fanny Lumsden, will also take the stage. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic rugs and snacks or purchase food from various on-site vendors. Fireworks will light up the sky at 21:00 and again at midnight.

Family-Friendly Fun at Birallee Tavern

The Birallee Tavern aims to entertain families with a special children’s disco from 18:00 to 21:00. This event will allow kids to enjoy the countdown before bedtime, complete with face painting. The festivities will continue into the night with DJ SONIX taking over the party from 21:00 onward.

Mulwala Water Ski Club Offers Non-Stop Entertainment

The Mulwala Water Ski Club invites guests to a lively New Year’s Eve celebration starting at 21:30, featuring the Swipe Right Cover Band. The evening will kick off with a fireworks display at 21:30, followed by a night filled with music and dancing. The club promises a mix of classic hits and modern anthems, with more fireworks scheduled for midnight.

As communities prepare to welcome 2024, these events offer a variety of experiences for individuals and families alike, ensuring a memorable start to the new year.
