Charlie Sheen, the 60-year-old Hollywood actor known for his roles in *Two And A Half Men*, has revealed that he has been celibate for the past eight years. Since quitting alcohol and drugs in 2017, Sheen has not engaged in any romantic relationships and has taken time to reflect on his personal priorities.
In an interview with the *New York Post* column PageSix, Sheen expressed his thoughts on celibacy, stating, “If I don’t have a girlfriend and I’m not paying for it, then I think the math is pretty simple.” He acknowledged that, in the past, he prioritized sexual relationships, but now sees celibacy as a necessary break from those pursuits. Despite this period of abstinence, he remains open to the possibility of future companionship, emphasizing, “That’s not me slamming the door on anything in the future.”
Past Relationships and Family Life
Sheen has been married three times. His first marriage was to model Donna Peele in the 1990s, followed by actress Denise Richards, with whom he was married from 2002 to 2006. His third marriage to Brooke Mueller lasted from 2008 until 2011. Together, he has five children: Cassandra, 40, with former partner Paula Profit; daughters Sami, 21, and Lola, 20, with Richards; and twin sons Bob and Max, 16, with Mueller.
Reflecting on his relationship with Mueller, Sheen noted that both of them faced challenges due to substance abuse. He mentioned that she is now doing well, and their past struggles do not affect their current co-parenting dynamic. “Even though it might appear that I was a little harder on Brooke than I was on Denise, that was justified,” he explained. “But [Brooke is] doing great. Our kids deserve better than to read about a bunch of stuff that happened.”
Health and Gratitude
Sheen, who was diagnosed with HIV in 2011, has spoken candidly about his journey through addiction and recovery. He expressed gratitude for having survived these challenges, stating, “A lot of this should be viewed as gravy. It’s borrowed time or my 10th life, because I think I get one more than all those cats.” This perspective reflects his commitment to living a healthier life and his desire to focus on the future.
As Sheen continues to navigate life after addiction, his reflections on celibacy and personal growth illustrate a significant transformation. While he remains hopeful for future relationships, he prioritizes his well-being and the well-being of his children, underscoring the importance of stability in his life moving forward.
