The 168th Longford Show is set to take place on October 18, 2025, promising a day filled with family-friendly activities and entertainment. Organised by the Longford Show Society Inc., the event will feature a variety of attractions designed to engage visitors of all ages. The show opens its gates at 9:00 AM, with entry points located on both Marlborough Street and Bulwer Street.

This year’s main attractions include special appearances by popular characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog and members of the Paw Patrol, including Marshall and Chase. Additionally, attendees can look forward to the return of the beloved Chocolate Wheel, made possible through the support of the Bracknell Football Club.

Exciting Activities for All Ages

The Longford Show will offer a diverse range of activities, ensuring there is something for everyone. Key highlights include:

– **Lyndens Laser Tag**
– **Van Diemens Swordfighters**
– **Sheaf Tossing Competition**
– **Reptile Rescue Snake Display**
– **Animal Nursery**

The Animal Nursery is expected to showcase an impressive array of animals, including chickens, ducks, miniature goats, and even alpacas. This provides a unique opportunity for children and families to interact with various farm animals while learning about their care.

Competitions will also take centre stage throughout the day. The Sheep Dog Trials will demonstrate the skills of trained dogs, while the Show Jumping events will feature competitors ranging from juniors to open classes, showcasing equestrian talent.

Celebrating Local Skills and Traditions

The show will highlight local craftsmanship and agricultural heritage with displays in the Home Industries Section. This area will feature various entries from local schools, showcasing cooking, needlework, craft, art, photography, and floral arrangements.

The Fleece Section will present high-quality wool fleeces from across the district, competing for the prestigious Grand Champion Fleece trophy, named in honour of long-time show supporter Mr. Tom Talbot.

Visitors can also enjoy watching the Sheaf Tossing Competition, which has roots in traditional farming practices. This event is both a nod to history and an entertaining competition, as participants showcase their strength and skill tossing sheaves of wheat.

Admission prices are set at $15 for adults, $7 for children (with free entry for those under five), and $35 for families. The Longford Show promises to be a vibrant celebration of community spirit, local businesses, and agricultural traditions. Everyone is encouraged to attend and support this cherished annual event.
