Shamans in Peru have made bold predictions for 2024 during their annual New Year’s ritual, including forewarnings of serious illness for US President Donald Trump and the potential exile of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro. The ceremony took place on a beach in southern Lima, where shamans, adorned in colorful ponchos, engaged in traditional rites involving flower offerings and symbolic gestures towards posters of world leaders.
During the event, which occurred on Monday, Juan de Dios Garcia, a prominent shaman, expressed his concerns for Trump, stating, “The United States should prepare itself because Donald Trump will fall seriously ill.” This pronouncement reflects the shamans’ deep-rooted beliefs in the power of spiritual foresight.
The shamans also directed their attention to Maduro, claiming, “We see Nicolás Maduro defeated. Nicolás Maduro will flee Venezuela. He will not be captured.” This prediction comes amid ongoing political turmoil in Venezuela, where Maduro’s leadership has faced increasing opposition both domestically and internationally.
Predictions for Peru and Global Events
Garcia’s forecasts extended to the political landscape of Peru, where he indicated that Keiko Fujimori, the daughter of former President Alberto Fujimori, will secure the presidency in the country’s elections scheduled for 2026. “The woman who dreams of ruling Peru, I have been able to see through the wachuma (ancestral plant) that Keiko Fujimori will be president in 2026,” he asserted. This claim comes after her previous attempts at securing the presidency ended in failure.
In addition to regional predictions, the shamans addressed international conflicts, notably the ongoing war in Ukraine. Garcia voiced a hopeful outlook, saying, “I see that the conflict will end; they will raise the flag of peace.” Previously, the shamans had foretold an end to the Ukraine war in 2023, demonstrating their confidence in their prophetic abilities.
The annual ritual, held in late December, serves as a significant cultural event in Peru. Shamans traditionally gather to perform ceremonies that encompass a wide range of predictions for individuals and nations alike. This year’s gathering included symbolic actions such as crossing swords over posters of world leaders and burning incense, illustrating the ritual’s vibrant and dynamic nature.
While these predictions are rooted in cultural traditions, they resonate with many who seek understanding in a world marked by uncertainty. As the predicted events unfold, the eyes of both national and international observers will be keenly focused on the outcomes foreseen by the Peruvian shamans.
