Prince Harry Mocks Trump in Hilarious Late Show Appearance

Prince Harry made headlines with his unexpected appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where he humorously took jabs at former US President Donald Trump. The segment aired on November 1, 2023, showcasing the Duke of Sussex in a comedy sketch that playfully highlighted his search for a role in a fictional Hallmark movie titled “Gingerbread Christmas Prince Saves Christmas in Nebraska.”

As he strolled through the studio, Harry joked about his confusion over the audition process, quipping, “You Americans are obsessed with Christmas movies, and you’re clearly obsessed with royalty, so why not?” Colbert countered Harry’s assertion about American obsession, to which the prince retorted, “Really? I hear you elected a king,” referencing the protests against the Trump administration that included the slogan “No Kings.”

The humour continued as Harry referenced CBS‘s recent settlement involving Trump, stating he would “do anything” to land the role. He added, “I’ll record a self-tape, I’ll fly myself to an audition, settle a baseless lawsuit with the White House—all the things you people in TV do.” Colbert quickly defended himself, saying, “Hey, I didn’t do any of those things,” to which Harry cheekily replied, “Maybe that’s why you’re cancelled.”

The sketch took a festive turn as decorations appeared on stage, with sleigh bells ringing in the background. Harry encouraged Colbert to “just believe,” reinforcing the light-hearted spirit of the segment. By the end, Colbert declared Harry the “official Late Show prince of Christmas,” earning cheers from the audience.

This appearance marks Harry’s second time on The Late Show, following a previous visit in January 2023 to promote his memoir, Spare. His first appearance had set a two-year viewership record, drawing significant media attention. The announcement of his recent guest spot was also shared by the Duchess of Sussex, who previewed the clip on her Instagram story.

Since stepping back from royal duties in January 2020, Harry and Meghan have been raising their family in Montecito, California. Wednesday’s episode featured other notable guests, including Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon and Irish actress and singer Jessie Buckley, adding to the evening’s entertainment.

Harry’s playful banter on The Late Show not only demonstrated his comedic timing but also kept the conversation around his life and experiences alive, ensuring continued public interest.
