Singlefile Wines has established a new partnership with an Albany vineyard, enhancing its role as a representative for the Great Southern region of Western Australia. This development follows the winery’s recent induction into the WA Tourism Awards Hall of Fame, marking its third consecutive win in the wineries, distilleries, and breweries category.
Co-founder Viv Snowden expressed pride in receiving the Hall of Fame recognition, noting that the winery’s focus is now firmly on future opportunities. Chief Executive Pat Corbett elaborated on this vision, stating that the new collaboration with the Albany vineyard allows Singlefile to engage with suppliers from all five distinct areas of the Great Southern region, including Denmark, Frankland River, Mt Barker, and the Porongurups.
Corbett explained that each area presents unique soils and micro-climates, which contribute to the diverse range of wines offered at the Singlefile cellar door. “While, for example, Margaret River is renowned for its chardonnays and cabernets, the Great Southern is so large it can produce a world-class standard of all the world-league varieties,” he said. This extensive selection allows customers to experience the differences in regional wines firsthand.
In addition to the vineyard partnership, Singlefile Wines is preparing to launch a new online platform aimed at enhancing customer experience. Corbett described the initiative as “not exactly sexy” but vital for improving interactions whether visitors are at the cellar door, browsing the website, or engaging with the winery’s wine club.
Founded in 2007 by geologists Phil and Viv Snowden, Singlefile Wines has transformed from a family venture into a recognized name in the wine industry. Corbett emphasized the importance of their dedicated staff, attributing the winery’s accolades, including the recent tourism award, to their hard work and commitment. “To win the tourism award three times in a row is brilliant and as much a testament to the staff as anyone else,” he stated. “It’s really hats off to them.”
As a Hall of Fame inductee, Singlefile will need to explore new categories if it wishes to compete in the WA Tourism Awards again in 2026. In the meantime, Corbett is addressing a common inquiry from visitors about food offerings at the winery. “Everybody wants to know if we do food,” he remarked. “We don’t, but visitors are welcome to bring a picnic.”
This latest expansion and focus on customer experience underscore Singlefile Wines’ commitment to elevating its presence in the Great Southern wine industry while celebrating the region’s unique offerings.
