The Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony is set to take place on June 11, 2026, in New York City. This year’s class not only includes Taylor Swift but also recognizes the contributions of Kiss founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, who are celebrated for their glam rock anthems such as “Rock and Roll All Nite” and “I Love It Loud.”
Adding to the lineup of honorees are soft rock legend Kenny Loggins, known for hits like “Footloose” and “Danny’s Song,” and the alt-rock icon Alanis Morissette, famous for tracks including “You Oughta Know” and “Ironic.” Additionally, Christopher “Tricky” Stewart, a pivotal figure in R&B music, is recognized for his work on hits like Rihanna’s “Umbrella” and Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies.”
In a statement, Songwriters Hall of Fame chairman Nile Rodgers emphasized the vital role of songwriters in the music industry. The Hall, established in 1969, honors individuals who have made significant contributions to popular music. A songwriter becomes eligible for induction 20 years after the commercial release of their first song. This year’s ceremony will also honor non-performers, including the songwriting duo Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, known for writing Tina Turner’s iconic hit “What’s Love Got to Do with It.”
Notably, some artists gain entry after several nominations. Walter Afanasieff, who co-wrote Mariah Carey’s enduring holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” was nominated in the 2025 class but will be inducted this year.
