Detectives from the Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit have apprehended a second teenage boy in connection to an alleged antisemitic incident that occurred in St Kilda East on January 19, 2024. The 16-year-old was arrested in Melton during the night and subsequently interviewed regarding the reported behavior, which took place around 21:50 local time on Glen Eira Road.
In addition to the antisemitic allegations, the teenager is also facing charges related to other criminal activities. He was questioned about an aggravated burglary in Ormond on January 13, 2024, and a motor vehicle theft in Caulfield on January 10, 2024. Following his arrest, he was charged with aggravated burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, and several driving offenses. The boy, who resides in the Knox area, has been remanded and will appear at a children’s court at a later date.
Earlier, on January 21, 2024, a 15-year-old boy from the Yarra Ranges area was also arrested in connection with the same incident. He has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and was granted bail to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
