The Ballina Shire Council is set to host two complimentary workshops on March 26, 2026, aimed at educating caravan owners on safe towing practices. The initiative seeks to enhance the safety of both experienced and novice caravan drivers through expert-led sessions filled with valuable insights and hands-on demonstrations.
According to Helen Carpenter, the Road Safety Officer from Ballina Shire Council and Transport for NSW, the workshops will cover essential topics such as safe loading techniques and towing regulations. “Whether you are an experienced caravan tower or new to the game, come along and hear from the experts, get some great tips and have your questions answered,” Carpenter stated.
Workshop Details and Registration
The Caravan Safety Workshops will take place in the Gawandii Room at the Ballina Surf Club. Participants can choose between two sessions: the first from 09:30 to 11:30 and the second from 13:00 to 15:00. Each session is limited to 50 attendees and will last approximately 1.5 hours. It is advised that participants do not bring their own caravans to the venue.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to register online. More information and registration can be found at this link.
Importance of Caravan Safety
With the growing popularity of caravanning for leisure activities, ensuring safety on the road has never been more critical. The workshops aim to equip caravan owners with the knowledge needed to prevent accidents and ensure a smooth experience on their journeys. Safe towing practices not only protect the driver but also safeguard other road users.
As the caravan community continues to expand, initiatives like these workshops reflect the council’s commitment to promoting road safety. Through expert guidance and shared experiences, participants can enhance their skills and confidence when towing their caravans.
The Ballina Shire Council encourages all caravan enthusiasts to take advantage of this opportunity to improve their safety practices and make the most of their adventures.
