Australian driver Oscar Piastri claimed pole position for the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix, edging out his McLaren teammate Lando Norris by just 12 milliseconds. The race, set to take place on August 31, 2025, marks a crucial point in the Formula 1 world championship, with Piastri holding a nine-point lead over Norris.

During the qualifying rounds, Norris dominated the earlier sessions, setting the fastest times in all three practice runs and establishing a new lap record. However, Piastri delivered a remarkable performance when it counted, achieving a new qualifying record and securing the top spot on the starting grid.

Piastri expressed satisfaction with his improvement throughout the weekend. After qualifying, he noted, “It felt pretty good. You know, not perfect, but I think with the wind being so strong, there are some places that are never going to feel perfect. It was nice to be able to pull it out then.” His determination and hard work paid off as he navigated the challenging conditions.
