Barcelona Eyes Vlahovic as Lewandowski Successor Amid Transfer Buzz

Barcelona is reportedly focusing on Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Catalan club has been monitoring Vlahovic’s situation closely, especially as the summer transfer window approaches its conclusion. The 25-year-old Serbian is out of contract at the Allianz Stadium in the summer of 2024, making him an attractive option for clubs looking to bolster their attacking front.

Barcelona’s interest in Vlahovic comes after a year of scouting the player. The Blaugrana are in search of a long-term replacement for Lewandowski, while recent reports indicate that Vlahovic has also drawn attention from Newcastle United and AC Milan. Despite this interest, he is said to have turned down a move to the San Siro. The urgency for Barcelona to secure a new forward has intensified after their unsuccessful pursuit of Benjamin Sesko, who recently signed with Manchester United.

In another significant transfer development, Manchester United is preparing an offer for Morten Hjulmand, a midfielder currently at Sporting CP. The Premier League side is reportedly willing to submit a bid of £50 million if they cannot secure the signing of Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion. Hjulmand, 26, has a release clause in his contract set at approximately £68 million and has previously collaborated with United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, during his time in Lisbon.

As clubs across Europe intensify their transfer activities, more players are becoming subjects of interest. Reports suggest that Borussia Dortmund is keeping a close eye on Rasmus Højlund, a Manchester United striker who is currently in discussions with AC Milan. This adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing negotiations, as Højlund weighs his options between staying in the Premier League or moving to Serie A.

In addition, Tottenham Hotspur has had a £60 million offer for winger Savinho rejected by Manchester City. The Brazilian international’s representatives are in England to facilitate a potential move to London, where he seeks more playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Negotiations are ongoing, with both clubs aiming to settle on a fee for the 21-year-old, who contributed to nine goals in 29 Premier League matches last season.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich remains steadfast in their pursuit of VfB Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade. Reports indicate that the 23-year-old and his representatives are willing to negotiate a reduction of around €10 million from a clause entitling him to a percentage of the transfer fee. It is believed that an offer in the range of €70 million to €75 million would be accepted, although a recent €60 million bid was turned down. The Bundesliga champions are determined to finalize a deal before the transfer window closes.

As the transfer window progresses, clubs continue to assess their needs and opportunities. Nottingham Forest has approached Juventus regarding midfielder Douglas Luiz, and there are multiple clubs expressing interest in Edson Álvarez of West Ham. The summer transfer window remains a dynamic environment, with numerous deals being discussed and finalized as teams seek to strengthen their squads for the upcoming season.

With the clock ticking down on the transfer window, football enthusiasts worldwide are keenly watching as potential moves unfold, each with the power to reshape rosters and influence league standings.
