Laura Woods will make her return to television following a health scare that occurred during a live broadcast. The incident took place while she was hosting ITV’s coverage of the friendly match between England and Ghana at the start of December 2025. During the pre-match build-up alongside pundits Ian Wright and Anita Asante, Woods suddenly collapsed but was thankfully caught by her colleagues.

Seconds after the incident, ITV cut away to a commercial break to attend to Woods, who was later taken off air. Stand-in presenter Katie Shanahan announced that Woods had fallen ill and was receiving medical attention. The news prompted an outpouring of support on social media, with many fans and colleagues sending their well-wishes.

In a message shared on her Instagram account, Woods expressed her gratitude for the care she received. “Gosh that was a bit weird,” she wrote, adding that the paramedics had informed her it was likely a virus requiring rest and hydration. She apologized for the incident, stating, “I’m really embarrassed that happened on TV, but a big thank you to my colleagues at ITV who have really looked after me tonight.”

Woods’ Upcoming Return to TNT Sports

After a week of recovery, Woods is set to return to her presenting duties, this time with TNT Sports. She will be hosting the UEFA Champions League match between Real Madrid and Manchester City. The match promises to feature a star-studded line-up, including football legends Steven Gerrard, Joleon Lescott, and Steve McManaman, with commentary provided by Darren Fletcher and Ally McCoist.

Woods’ return has been highly anticipated by fans and colleagues alike, underscoring her status as a beloved figure in sports broadcasting. Her commitment to her role and her health recovery has resonated positively within the community, further solidifying her connection with viewers.

As she prepares to step back into the spotlight, many are eager to see Woods resume her role and continue to inspire with her dynamic presence on screen.
