Wrexham Launches Vibrant 2025-26 Away Kit Ahead of Championship Return

Wrexham AFC has unveiled its new away kit for the 2025-26 season, featuring a bright yellow and green design inspired by the daffodil, a national symbol of Wales. This announcement coincides with the club’s anticipated return to the Championship, marking its first season in the English second tier since 1981-82. With ownership by Hollywood celebrities Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the club has gained significant attention and momentum, having risen three divisions in just four years.

The away kit, which debuted during Wrexham’s preseason tour against Sydney FC on March 15, 2024, showcases a retro design reminiscent of the late 1980s. The shirt features a neat polo collar and fine pinstriping, enhancing its nostalgic appeal. Inside the neckline, the phrase “Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau / Land of My Fathers,” the title of the Welsh national anthem, is included in both Welsh and English, further celebrating Welsh heritage.

Following a successful first match of the tour where Wrexham defeated Melbourne Victory 3-0, the team faced a setback against Sydney FC, losing 2-1 at Allianz Stadium. The Red Dragons will continue their tour with an upcoming match against Wellington Phoenix in New Zealand.

Wrexham’s recent home kit launch also garnered attention, featuring a centralized club crest that pays homage to former players like Joey Jones and Dixie McNeil. This retro approach has created excitement among fans, although it was met with unexpected competition from rival club Swansea City, which enlisted Snoop Dogg for their own kit unveiling.

As Wrexham prepares for its inaugural season back in the Championship, the bright away kit symbolizes the club’s ambition and connection to Welsh culture. The club aims to build on its recent success and establish itself in the competitive landscape of English football.

Fans can stay updated on Wrexham’s journey by watching the popular docuseries “Welcome to Wrexham” on Disney+, which chronicles the club’s remarkable transformation under its new ownership.
