BREAKING: A significant step towards a new independent school in Ballarat has just been confirmed with the purchase of over 11 hectares of farmland on Cuthberts Road. The AngliSchools organization quietly acquired this prime land for $3.5 million on April 30, 2024, marking a pivotal moment in the region’s educational landscape.
This newly purchased land, located at 531 Cuthberts Road, Cardigan, currently features a four-bedroom home but is poised for development into a comprehensive prep to year 12 school by the end of the decade. AngliSchools Chief Executive Reverend Peter Laurence stated that due diligence is currently being conducted to determine the format and scope of the new school. “Typically, AngliSchools are preparatory to Year 12. They open with a number of year levels, growing year by year until the full complement of prep to Year 12 is reached,” he explained.
This initiative is particularly notable given Ballarat’s reputation as a significant educational hub. The newly acquired land sits directly opposite the Lucas housing development and is adjacent to a similar-sized parcel owned by Loreto College, just outside the council’s designated Western Growth Zone.
