67-Year-Old Charged After Seizing 1.8kg of Meth in WA

URGENT UPDATE: A 67-year-old man from Derby has been charged after authorities seized 1.8kg of methamphetamine he allegedly attempted to transport into the Kimberley region. The arrest occurred at a Halls Creek hotel on November 28, highlighting a major crackdown on drug trafficking in Western Australia.

Detectives from Broome apprehended the man while he was concealing the substantial meth stash in a car he was towing. He now faces serious charges, including possessing a trafficable quantity of meth with intent to sell or supply. Following his arrest, he has been remanded in custody and is set to appear before the Broome Magistrates Court on January 5.

This incident marks the second significant drug seizure in just three weeks involving vehicles traveling from the Eastern States into WA via remote roads.
