96% of Enterprises Now Integrate AI, Transforming Business Strategies

UPDATE: A groundbreaking report from Cloudera reveals that 96% of enterprises have now integrated artificial intelligence (AI) into their core business processes. This pivotal shift demonstrates that AI has transitioned from a competitive edge to a mandatory practice for organizations worldwide.

The findings, released on September 25, 2025, after polling over 1,500 IT leaders, highlight a steep rise in AI adoption and its crucial role in modern business operations. This dramatic increase from 88% in 2024 signifies a fundamental transformation in how companies leverage AI technologies. With 70% of respondents reporting significant success from AI initiatives, the urgency for enterprises to adapt has never been clearer.

The report underscores the importance of a hybrid data architecture, which allows organizations to manage AI securely across both cloud and on-premises environments. Respondents identified key advantages to this approach, including enhanced security (62%), improved data management (55%), and superior data analytics (54%). However, despite these advancements, many organizations recognize they are still on a journey to fully harness AI’s potential.

“AI has shifted from a strategic priority to an urgent mandate, actively reshaping operations and redefining the rules of competition,” stated Sergio Gago, Chief Technology Officer at Cloudera. This sentiment resonates strongly as businesses face challenges related to security, compliance, and data utilization, with many still struggling to move beyond proof-of-concept stages.

In terms of AI technology, enterprises are diversifying their approaches. The survey revealed that 60% of organizations are utilizing generative AI, 53% are employing deep learning, and 50% are leveraging predictive AI. The willingness to explore new AI forms has surged, with 67% of IT leaders feeling increasingly prepared to manage advanced AI agents compared to last year.

However, significant hurdles remain. Only 9% of organizations reported that all their data is both accessible and usable for AI initiatives, while about 38% acknowledged that most of their data is available. Key technical limitations include challenges in data integration (37%) and storage performance (17%).

The report, introduced at Cloudera’s flagship event EVOLVE 25 NYC, emphasizes the pressing need for organizations to adopt a data-first culture. While 24% of respondents now describe their organizations as extremely data-driven, the majority recognize more work is necessary to embed this mindset throughout business practices.

As enterprises continue to navigate these challenges, the need for robust solutions has never been more critical. Cloudera remains committed to enabling organizations to unlock insights from 100% of their data, ensuring AI is both effective and secure.

The findings of this report serve as a wake-up call for businesses globally, reinforcing the notion that AI is not just an option but a necessity in today’s competitive landscape. As organizations strive to innovate and adapt, the call to action is clear: embrace AI now or risk being left behind.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story as organizations respond to the evolving landscape of enterprise AI.
