Aldi Issues Urgent Recall of Frozen Gyoza Over Glass Contamination

URGENT UPDATE: Aldi’s frozen Urban Eats vegetable gyoza are under recall for the second time in just two months due to possible glass contamination. Food Standards Australia announced the recall on Friday, alerting consumers about the serious health risks associated with consuming the affected product.

Officials confirmed that the recall stems from the potential presence of foreign matter, specifically glass, which could lead to illness or injury if ingested. The affected 750g packages of dumplings, identifiable by their green packaging, were sold nationwide, excluding Tasmania and the Northern Territory.

Consumers are strongly advised not to eat the recalled gyoza. Instead, they should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Authorities emphasized the importance of seeking medical advice for anyone who has consumed the affected product.

The latest recall affects gyoza with best-before dates ranging from April 10, 2027 to June 15, 2027. This follows a similar recall issued in July, where the same product was pulled from shelves due to identical concerns regarding glass shards.

This ongoing situation raises significant concerns for consumer safety and highlights the need for vigilance when purchasing frozen foods. The repeated nature of these recalls serves as a reminder for shoppers to check product packaging carefully before consumption.

As the situation develops, consumers are encouraged to stay informed through official channels and monitor any further announcements from Food Standards Australia. The health and safety of the public remain a top priority, and immediate action is crucial to prevent potential harm.

Stay tuned for updates on this urgent recall and ensure that you check your freezers for any affected products.
