Alex Barbas Launches $780,000 Charity Run from Sydney to Perth

Alex Barbas Out and Back Run - 7,800km Run From Sydney To Perth And Back To Raise $780,000 For Starlight

UPDATE: In a groundbreaking effort to raise $780,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, Alex Barbas is set to embark on an ambitious journey, running from Sydney to Perth and back. The challenge, spanning a staggering 7,800 km, is scheduled to kick off on September 1, 2023, and aims to support over 20,000 sick children through engaging activities.

Barbas, a 33-year-old property worker from Perth, has already raised nearly $11,000 with donations pouring in just days before the start. He plans to consume approximately 9,000 calories daily and will be packing seven pairs of shoes for the grueling trek. “I can run 80 km, but trying to raise $780,000 is something I cannot do alone,” Barbas stated. He emphasizes the need for community support to reach this substantial goal.

After departing Sydney, Barbas hopes to arrive in Perth by mid-October, where he will take a brief pause to visit his parents and enjoy a hearty pasta meal. He aims to return to Sydney by the first week of December, ideally in time for his brother’s bucks party. The journey is not just about the miles; it’s about making a significant impact on the lives of children facing serious health challenges.

Barbas expressed his excitement about the upcoming challenge, stating, “I’m getting more excited as the days come closer.” He will be joined by a dedicated support team, including a medic and a videographer, to document this extraordinary journey.

The funds raised will help the Starlight Children’s Foundation continue its mission to brighten the lives of sick children. Barbas urges everyone to contribute: “I need people to tell their brother, sister, mate, colleague, whoever it is, and really get the exposure behind the cause.”

With the countdown to his departure well underway, Barbas is actively organizing logistics and preparing to take on this monumental challenge. Join him in this cause by donating at www.alexsoutandback.com.au and be part of a movement that seeks to transform lives.

This is a developing story, and updates will follow as Barbas prepares for his incredible journey.
