Bakery Beca Bakes Bottega Pantry Opens New CBD Location Today!

UPDATE: Today marks the grand opening of Beca Bakes Bottega Pantry in Uralla, as owners Rebecca Walker and Nick Monk unveil their new location at the former site of Michael’s Cafe. After receiving keys on New Year’s Eve, the couple has transformed the space just in time for their launch on January 10, 2026.

This expansion is a significant milestone for the beloved local bakery, which started from humble beginnings. Originally baking for Berdine Warne at the Alternate Root, Walker and Monk quickly grew their operations, moving from home baking to a dedicated wholesale facility. Now, all retail activities will be centralized at this new CBD location, offering a wide array of baked goods, coffee, and an exciting new menu of plated meals for breakfast and lunch.

The ambiance of the new bakery reflects a thoughtful renovation, with a plan to preserve the building’s rich history. Walker, a former commercial interior designer, aims to recreate a vintage aesthetic reminiscent of the building’s past as the Bank of NSW. Inside, customers will find stunning features like a chandelier, green marble tables, and church pews sourced from St Paul’s Anglican Church in Kogarah.

In a unique twist, the bakery introduces its unofficial mascot, ‘Creepy Bob’, a life-size statue rescued for just $1. Originally from a Maitland butcher shop, Creepy Bob has become a quirky attraction for both locals and tourists, providing a playful yet eerie welcome to the bakery.

“We have 35 seats inside and about 40 outside,” Monk shared, highlighting the inviting layout. “We’re also looking at hosting evening events with entertainment in our beautiful garden area.”

The launch of Beca Bakes Bottega Pantry is more than just a bakery opening; it symbolizes a community-focused business that prioritizes local ingredients and engages with the public in innovative ways. The couple is excited to share their vision and delicious offerings, while also creating a space for social gatherings and entertainment.

As the doors officially open today, expect a line of eager customers ready to taste the new culinary delights. This dynamic couple is set to make waves in Uralla, and with Creepy Bob keeping watch, they promise a blend of unique charm and community spirit.

For those looking for a new favorite spot in Uralla, the wait is finally over. Beca Bakes Bottega Pantry is ready to welcome you!
