The men’s A-grade competition saw the Bombers, currently at the bottom of the standings, facing off against the formidable MP Boys. The first quarter kicked off with both teams evenly matched at 10-10, with Chris Hunter leading the Bombers with four successful baskets. However, the MP Boys began to pull ahead in the second half, thanks to key contributions from C.J. Oakley, Rhys Hajinoor, and Damon Enosa, who each scored two baskets, giving the MP Boys a four-point lead by halftime.

As the third quarter unfolded, the Bombers mounted a fierce counterattack, closing the gap to just one point at 32-31 as they entered the final quarter. The tension was palpable, but the MP Boys capitalized on their shooting accuracy, stretching their lead in the final moments to clinch a 46-33 victory. Oakley topped the scoring charts with an impressive 21 points, while Hunter led the Bombers with 14 points.

In other matches, the Tigers dominated the Gantheaume Pointers, securing a decisive 57-39 win. The Tigers seized control early, with Jarman Cox scoring 24 points and driving the team’s offensive strategy. Despite the Pointers’ attempts to stay competitive, including Tom Schorer‘s contribution of 10 points, the Tigers’ relentless performance sealed their victory.

The men’s social competition also brought excitement, with the Saints delivering a commanding performance against the Cobras, triumphing with a staggering score of 53-23. Done Manjengwa stood out with 20 points, significantly contributing to the Saints’ commanding lead.
