UPDATE: In a stunning display of speed and strategy, Brenlyn’s Legacy defied the odds with a decisive victory in the $27,000 Class 3 Handicap at Wagga on October 25, 2023. This marks the horse’s third consecutive win, showcasing the exceptional training by Andrew Dale and the skill of jockey Cory Parish.
Despite a betting drift that saw Brenlyn’s Legacy open at $2.45 and close at $3.60, the horse proved his mettle against solid competition. Parish executed a clever strategy, allowing Brenlyn’s Legacy to settle behind the early leader, Baggage Handler, who set a brisk pace after overcoming a wide barrier.
At the top of the home straight, Baggage Handler held a four-length lead, but Parish made his move at the 200m mark, unleashing Brenlyn’s Legacy’s impressive turn of foot. The horse surged ahead to claim victory by 1.35 lengths, demonstrating his potential for even greater achievements in the future.
Parish, who has ridden Brenlyn’s Legacy in all three wins, expressed his excitement, stating,
“He’s a beautiful horse… It’s just really good to get another win on him.”
He noted that the horse is still maturing, with much more to offer as he gains experience on the track.
The ownership group, including Dale and breeder Lyn Windsor, celebrated the victory. Albury mayor Kevin Mack, also part of the ownership, shared his enthusiasm:
“It was a fantastic win and that’s his third in a row, so we are rapt as owners.”
Mack highlighted the horse’s incredible journey from a two-year-old runner-up at Wodonga to a three-time winner, reinforcing the excitement surrounding Brenlyn’s Legacy.
This latest win not only adds to the horse’s impressive record of three victories from four starts but also positions him as a promising contender for future races. As Brenlyn’s Legacy continues to rise in class, all eyes will be on his next performance, with connections eagerly anticipating what lies ahead.
