URGENT UPDATE: The China (Guangxi)–ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Application Ecosystem Exchange Conference 2025 has officially commenced in Nanning, China, as of September 18, 2025. This pivotal event is set to redefine AI collaboration in the region, showcasing over 30 significant cross-border AI cooperation achievements and the signing of more than 50 agreements.
As part of the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo, this conference emphasizes “AI+” collaboration aimed at integrating AI technology into various sectors, significantly accelerating digital transformation across the ASEAN region. The conference includes a main forum, focused sub-forums, an innovation exhibition, and vital networking sessions.
Speaking at the event, Hou Gang, Mayor of Nanning, highlighted the city’s commitment to developing the China-ASEAN AI Innovation Cooperation Center. He stated that Nanning is establishing a comprehensive AI industry ecosystem, positioning itself as a strategic hub for Chinese enterprises seeking to penetrate the ASEAN market.
Among the notable attendees, Yeoh Jun Hao, representative from the Malaysian Palm Oil Board, remarked on the strong cooperative potential between China and Malaysia, particularly in the agricultural sector where AI technology is being actively introduced.
During the conference, several groundbreaking platforms and initiatives were unveiled. These include the Star Computing Cloud Pool, an inclusive computing power platform by Wuxiang Cloud Valley, and the AITIR multilingual real-time translation card. Additionally, the newly established National Robotics Exchange (NRX) talent platform aims to boost talent in AI and robotics.
The establishment of the China-ASEAN AI Industry-University-Research Innovation Alliance and the launch of the AI Application Ecosystem Construction Initiative by Runjian Co., Ltd., further underscores the collaborative momentum generated by this conference.
Attendees are also participating in parallel sub-forums focused on critical areas such as AI in education, intelligent operations, AI agriculture, and AI healthcare. These discussions are expected to initiate numerous joint training programs and cross-border cooperation projects, enhancing the practical applications of AI in everyday life.
The innovation exhibition area features over 40 institutions and ASEAN enterprises displaying real-world AI applications across multiple sectors. This aspect of the conference is crucial for fostering partnerships and showcasing the tangible benefits of AI integration.
Organized by the Nanning Municipal People’s Government, the Guangxi Big Data Development Department, and other prominent institutions, the conference has attracted nearly 1,000 representatives from governments, enterprises, and academic circles throughout China and ASEAN.
As the event progresses, Guangxi province plans to deepen its partnerships and technical collaborations with ASEAN nations, promoting broader adoption of “AI+” technologies, which will have lasting impacts on economic growth and innovation in the region.
