Dentsu Unveils Urgent Global Management Overhaul Ahead of Growth

BREAKING: Dentsu Group Inc. has just announced a sweeping new global management structure aimed at boosting client growth and execution capabilities. Effective March 27, 2026, the major reshuffle includes the appointment of Takeshi Sano as the new President & Global CEO, set to enhance operational excellence amid ongoing challenges in the overseas market.

This restructuring comes at a critical time as Dentsu faces a rapidly changing business environment. The company aims to solidify its foundation for future growth, having already established a reputation for transformation and client success. In FY2025, Dentsu reported that its core subsidiary contributes approximately 40% of the group’s net revenue, showing a promising upward trajectory with 11 consecutive quarters of revenue growth.

Dentsu’s leadership is confident that the new management team will deepen trust with stakeholders and ensure sustainable corporate value. Sano, who previously served as CEO of Dentsu Japan, has transformed the company into an Integrated Growth Partner, achieving impressive financial results and supporting Japanese clients in global expansion.

In his statement, Sano emphasized the need for the company to adapt swiftly to competitive pressures, saying,

“We continue to thoughtfully evolve our leadership approach to support the pace of our transformation and strengthen execution, maximizing our contribution to client growth.”

The restructuring includes a significant shift in the Global Management Team. The roles of Global COO and Global President, overseeing all regions and practices, will be eliminated. Instead, regional CEOs and practice Presidents will now report directly to Sano, streamlining decision-making and enhancing client relations.

Additionally, Dentsu has appointed Yoshimasa Watahiki as the new Global Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, focusing on governance and accountability across the organization. Watahiki has played a pivotal role in driving reforms within Dentsu Japan and will continue to support its growth while expanding his influence globally.

In another key appointment, Shigeki Endo will retain his position as Global CFO, leveraging his extensive experience to strengthen Dentsu’s financial foundation and ensure sustainable cash generation.

The announcement is set against the backdrop of a competitive global advertising landscape, with Dentsu aiming to enhance its integrated services to clients worldwide. The leadership changes reflect a proactive strategy to build on existing strengths while addressing emerging market demands.

As Dentsu prepares for this transformative shift, industry observers will be watching closely to see how these changes impact the company’s performance and client relationships. The upcoming 177th Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on March 27, 2026, will officially confirm these new appointments, marking a pivotal moment in Dentsu’s evolution.

Stay tuned for further updates as Dentsu embarks on this ambitious path to redefine its global presence and drive greater client success.
