Driver Rescued After School Bus and Truck Collision in Victoria

UPDATE: A bus driver has been urgently rescued from wreckage following a serious collision between a school bus and a truck on Warracknabeal-Stawell Road near Minyip, Victoria. The crash occurred just after 8:30 AM on July 24, prompting immediate response from emergency services.

Emergency crews reported that several individuals, including three children, were able to escape the bus independently. However, one woman, identified as the bus driver, remained trapped within the wreckage. Victoria State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers from the Warracknabeal Unit worked diligently to free her from the mangled vehicle.

The situation escalated when a fuel leak was detected at the crash site. Victoria’s Country Fire Authority (CFA) swiftly addressed the leak, declaring the scene “under control” by 9:32 AM. The bus driver was subsequently treated for serious injuries and transported into the care of paramedics.

Authorities confirmed that one child and the truck driver sustained minor injuries. Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this critical incident.
