UPDATE: Dunlop Aircraft Tyres has just announced the appointment of Lee Timbrell as Chief Commercial Officer, a strategic move aimed at advancing its global commercial strategy. Effective immediately, Timbrell will spearhead sales, business development, and customer engagement for the company, which is headquartered in Birmingham, England.
This leadership change comes at a pivotal moment for Dunlop, following a robust financial performance in 2025 and the successful completion of a $93 million senior secured bond offering. This financial boost is expected to enhance the company’s balance sheet and provide the flexibility needed to support its ambitious growth strategy.
Timbrell transitions to Dunlop from Safran Actuation Systems, where he served as Senior Director for Aftermarket Services, overseeing profitability across nine global maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sites. His impressive track record includes managing a team of around 300 professionals and holding P&L accountability. He played a crucial role during Safran’s acquisition of Collins Aerospace’s flight control and actuation business in 2025.
In welcoming Timbrell, Susan McKenna, Dunlop’s CEO, stated, “Lee brings extensive global aftermarket and customer leadership experience, with a proven record of driving growth and strengthening long-term partnerships. His commercial expertise will help accelerate Dunlop’s next phase of growth.”
Timbrell expressed his excitement about joining the team, stating, “I am thrilled to join Dunlop to elevate further the strong brand equity the company has established in the aviation industry over more than a century.” His focus will be on advancing the company’s commercial strategy to deliver lasting value for its global customers and stakeholders.
